NORTH DEVON'S BEACHES
You can find North Devon divided into two by the estuaries of the River Taw and River Torridge. The North Devon coast provides something for everyone and north of the River Taw and Torridge are the big surfing beaches such as Saunton Sands, Putsborough, Woolacombe and the world renowned Croyde beach. From Woolacombe there is good walking around Morte Point and Bull Point for those who want to enjoy the coastline and local wildlife.
If you take a trip to the banks of the River Torridge you’ll discover the pleasant village of Instow with its sandy beach, which looks across to Appledore, a town well worth a visit in its own right. Both of these villages offer fantastic local restaurants and excellent opportunities to relax while on holiday whether it be with a glass of wine in a beer garden over-looking the sand and sea-scape or lounging on the beach soaking up the sun.
Below the estuary is the popular surfing beach at Westward Ho! with plenty of space in the water for those who are just starting out. Further west is Clovelly and the headland at Hartland Point.
At the far east of the North Devon coast you will come to the historic twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, which are well worth a visit for the beach, the surfing, scenery and local shops. Something for everyone!

Fortescue Arms
The Fortescue Arms is a family run Pub / Hotel located a short drive from the world acclaimed sandy beaches of Woolacombe Bay, North Devon. Renowned for its good food, in particular the superb carvery, with spacious bars and restaurants catering for everyone including families with children. A choice of menus offers a range of bar snacks, house specials, vegetarian, a la carte & a children’s menu. Function rooms ideal for private groups.
Mortehoe Shellfish
We sell many types of seafood, including lobsters and crabs, stored in our own sea water holding tanks for ultimate freshness. Try our fish wrapped in foil with tasty herbs for the barbecue or oven. We serve fish and seafood lunches in our dining room or on the patio weather permitting from 12 - 3pm Our seafood platters for 2 are served in the evenings from 6pm (Bookings requested)
NC@EX34
Established nearly a decade ago, NC@EX34 is a family run restaurant focused on delivering great value and great quality, through using well sourced, simply prepared ingredients, served in a warm and friendly environment. The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday evenings and Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes, with those hours extended to a seven day lunch and dinner operation during the peak season.

Tyme Restaurant is set within the beautiful 17th Century Trimstone Manor Country House Hotel which lies in 44 acres of landscaped gardens and beautiful North Devon countryside.
We serve quality cuisine that is fresh, seasonal and local and are open all year for evening meals, Sunday and week-day lunches, coffee and cream teas. We are able to cater for larger functions, including weddings and private parties so whether you want a formal a la carte meal in our Restaurant or a marquee in our landscaped gardens, we can help design an event tailored to suit you.
