Sail is a stunning apartment in the roof space of a large Edwardian detached house. The house is situated at the bottom of Combe Valley which runs to the sea where Woolacombe meets Mortehoe and the beach below is called Combesgate, a firm favourite amongst local surfers. It is surrounded by National Trust land and it takes just a few minutes to walk down to the great sandy beach with rock pools and fantastic waves. The views are lovely from all the rooms and especially from the Juliet balcony doors in the main living room where many hours could be spent enjoying the sea views. This super apartment even has an area of garden (not enclosed) and patio so this place really does tick all those boxes!
It takes about 5 to10 minutes to walk to Barricane beach if that and a bit further round the Esplanade to the main beach and the village. If you prefer to be away from the busier end of Woolacombe and yet still walking distance from everywhere, then this is a great spot.
Booked together with the bottom apartment Lower Burnside (also on my website) it is possible to accommodate up to 10 people for a big friends or family holiday.
From the parking space there is a slope and steps and then a flight of external stairs to the modern apartment where you enter the hallway. Double doors open into the open plan living/dining/kitchen with angled ceilings and quirky alcove with round porthole window (a favourite play place for young children!). The black leather corner suite is sited to take in the sea view from the Juliet balcony doors and watch TV in the evenings. Flat screen digital TV/DVD and Wi-Fi. The dining table seats 4 and the compact but well fitted kitchen houses all the usual appliances with a 2 ring hob. The windows in the kitchen have super views over to the sea and coastline and surrounding countryside, we love this apartment!
There are two good bedrooms; the master has a double bed with a small built in wardrobe, cupboards and chest of drawers. The view from the unusual low window and skylight Velux are really pretty. The en-suite has a shower, WC and wash basin.
The twin bedroom has a big skylight window with blind and built in wardrobe cupboard. The beds are 3ft comfy divans divided by a bedside unit with lamp. This room has the exclusive use of the family shower room as the master bedroom has en-suite.
One of the key features of this beautiful apartment is the delightful gardens. The patio is great for sunbathing or to enjoy that well deserved glass of wine! This apartment out of the three has the biggest outdoor area allocated to it. Although it is not directly off the apartment it makes a special addition to the holiday home as not many of our apartments offer a garden and patio area with views!
Allocated signed parking space for 1 car. The £150 security deposit is taken 4 days before the holiday and released back 4 days after if no damage reported.
One dog accepted at £20 fee per holiday.
